First prize in the 7th International FotoFénix Competition 2015

During my recent trip to Iceland, I received the wonderful news that one of my photographs had won the 7th International FotoFénix Competition 2015 organised by the cultural magazine La Fénix Troyana de Chelva.

There were 873 photographs submitted by 264 entrants from many countries. A hundred finalists were selected, including three of the five photographs I had entered.

The winner was chosen through scores from an artistic jury, which accounted for 45% of the final result, the magazine’s editorial team with 25%, and the entrants themselves with the remaining 30%.

With a final score of 6.91, my photograph “Punta Nariga” panorama won first prize. Winning with this photograph is particularly special because it was my first panorama of this kind, and the one that encouraged me to change my camera equipment and become fully immersed in photography.

I would also like to congratulate Francisco Javier Brito Ortiz, Basilio Villaverde Justo, Agustín Ferreiro Abelairas on receiving the three runners-up awards, and Juan Miguel Muñoz Pastor on winning the FotoChelva Award.
