Hello, I’m
Julio Castro

My name is Julio Castro and I am a professional landscape photographer from A Coruña, Spain. I have always loved nature, hiking and, above all, astronomy, which sparked my passion for night photography.

My journey into photography began in 2015, after a trip along the west coast of the United States. I was amazed by the landscapes I visited, but my photographs did not reflect what I had experienced and felt. That inspired me to explore photography more deeply.

After taking courses and learning from some of Spain’s leading landscape photographers, I now travel around the world to create photographs that reveal the beauty of our planet.

My photographs have received awards in over 200 competitions, including some of the world’s leading photography contests such as the Sony World Photography Awards, Siena International Photo Awards, International Photo Awards, Trierenberg Super Circuit, Epson Pano Awards, Memorial María Luisa and many others.

My photographs have also appeared in magazines and media around the world, including Fotógrafo Nocturno magazine, Phot magazine, La Mirada de los Fotógrafos magazine, Super Foto Digital magazine, 1x gallery, Petapixel, Forbes, Xataka foto and many others.

In 2017, I joined the team at www.viajesfotograficos.com as a photography guide and instructor. I combine this work with teaching in-person and online courses in photo editing and photographic technique.

Today, I continue travelling the world, enjoying photography as much as I did on my very first day, while sharing my knowledge and passion with anyone who wishes to learn.
