Commended at the Sony World Photography Awards 2016

Today I am delighted to announce that I have been commended in the Panoramic category of the Sony World Photography Awards 2016, the world’s largest photography awards.

When I received the organisers’ email, I could hardly believe they had chosen my photograph as one of the 50 best in the category from 95,541 photographs by entrants from 186 countries.

I entered just to give it a try, with no expectation of achieving anything in such a large competition with photographers of the highest calibre. It was also my first time entering anything like this, as I was a beginner who had been taking photographs for less than a year.

However, the judges must have seen something in the photograph to choose it alongside truly remarkable images of an outstanding standard:

 

Now I will keep enjoying this wonderful hobby, which has given me so many good times and introduced me to wonderful people.
