Easily remove hot pixels from your photographs

Introduction

Anyone who shoots at night has encountered those annoying “hot pixels”, which create coloured dots and reduce the quality of our photographs. 

Hot pixels tend to become more numerous with longer exposures, although other factors, such as the camera and the outside temperature, also affect their number.

In this tutorial, we will quickly and effectively remove most hot pixels using Photoshop’s Dust & Scratches filter. 

This filter removes almost all hot pixels. Any remaining ones can easily be removed with the Spot Healing Brush.
